UMaine Visit and Helping Friends

Early morning McDonald's Big Breakfast... and Bailey would love a piece.
On Sunday, a holiday weekend in Maine and across the nation, we trekked up to the University of Maine where I work. First, we stopped in to help Tricia and Harvey Kail, friends of mine. Harvey, a retired Professor of English and writing center director/founder, took a fall and broke his ankle--Tricia is up for surgery in a week. Harvey and Tricia are hikers, sailers, and world travelers--to say these "setbacks" are untimely... well, that's the truth of it. They can't wait to get back out on the trails. We were happy to help with the lawn work; in return, we were treated to home-made chicken sandwiches and fun conversation, plus a tour of Harvey's latest project... he's building a boat. Then, we toured UMaine. We also went to the Bangor Shopping Mall to prowl the stores. A long day but a fun day...

How about that view up the river? I used to rent the top floor of Tricia and Harvey's home--
I loved that view.
