Chicken Dinner

Yes, thank goodness they ate it.
Here's one of the meals that we have each week. It's a common breaded chicken, rice, and veggie dinner. Our regular schedule of meals might include the following: lasagna, chicken, burger & fries (it's America after all), fish sticks, spaghetti, chicken burritos, homemade pizza, Patatas con Pimentón de la vera a la Guido and Sebino ;-), Sloppy Joes (BBQ beef on a roll), macaroni-cheese-beef, Chicken Fiesta (a Mexican concoction)... When all else fails, we eat chocolates and ice cream.

Patatas con Pimentón de la vera a la Guido and Sebino

A little piece of home for Guido
We did it! On a wet Saturday evening, Guido and I went shopping for Patatas con Pimentón de la vera a la Guido and Sebino ingredients.  Then, the boys and I worked our way through the easily understood recipe. The final result? Delicious.

That final run...

Ivan...

In skiing and snowboarding, that final run down the mountain, after a long day or evening, can be tricky. On Thursday, Guido's twin brother Ivan found that out.

Free night skiing beckoned Ivan and his host family up to Black Mountain. During his first-ever adventure on a snowboard, on the very last run, Ivan took a tumble and ended up breaking his collar bone. We wish him well and hope for a speedy recovery so he can get in a month of spring skiing in the sun and warm mountain temperatures of the Maine slopes.

In fact, Ivan! Come up to Black Mountain again and try out Pond Skimming this spring as demonstrated here by Espen (Denmark) who visited us in the fall and his German/Belgium brother, Moritz:

Or how about Espen's German/Belgium brother Moritz...

Go, Moritz!

Ohhhhhhhhh.... Oops!

Oops to the 3rd Power

Send in the life guard. Bailey, jump in and save Momo.

Never mind. He's surfacing.

Alive, well, and wet... We don't advise taking a lesson from Moritz on Pond Skimming.
Safe and sound... come on in, Ivan! The water's fine.

Get well soon, Ivan!

Patatas con Pimentón de la vera

Four thumbs up from Beryle and Eric's Family

Ivan's family received a special spice for Christmas from Spain, and this weekend he made Patatas con Pimentón de la vera. The report? Delicioso! On Thursday night, we have free skiing at Black Mountain, so Ivan's family will be visiting. Beryle will share some of the spice with us, and Guido will be the head chef one night this weekend. No pressure, Guido... :-)

Here again is the recipe from Nazario for those of you from The Netherlands or Rumford who'd like to give this soup a try: Patatas con Pimentón de la vera

Oh, and a special time for Ivan's family, a new baby in the house!
