High Water and Ice Jams on the Androscoggin River

This past weekend, we received 2 days of heavy rain on top of the snow. The Androscoggin River had frozen solid in long stretches. As a result, the rain raised the water level and the ice dislodged. This ice break-up can cause ice jams (and did) and the jams can also cause flooding (and did). I took the boys around town looking at the ice jam, flooded spots, and the water falls at the center of town. Today, with –4C temperatures, I'm wondering what will happen with the river.
